The payments of the first aid continue, following the completion of the submission of applications and the relevant cross-checks made by the officers of the general secretariat of Natural Disaster Recovery and State Aid of the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection. New first aid payments were made today to those affected by the floods that occurred at the beginning of September in various areas of Thessaly, but also in Central Greece. Specifically, 2,891,402 euros were credited to citizens’ bank accounts.

Particularly, today, 88,402 euros were paid to 29 natural persons cto deal with basic living needs and simple repair work and/or the replacement of household goods in areas affected by the September floods.

These are payments that resulted from the cross-checks made by the officers of the General Secretariat for Natural Disaster Recovery and State Aid in the applications submitted to the first aid platform, arogi.gov.gr. Also, payments of 2,798,000 euros to 454 businesses as first aid against the grant of businesses affected by the floods, which include livestock units and agricultural holdings, following the completion of the second round of applications.

Cumulatively, therefore, to date, in the context of the first and second cycles of first aid, 161,011,126 euros have been paid to 46,391 households, businesses, agricultural holdings and livestock units that were affected by the unprecedented flooding phenomenon that hit Thessaly and other areas.

The payment of the second cycle of the first aid to agricultural holdings and livestock units continues depending on the flow of data from the Region of Thessaly and the Region of Central Greece. The staff of the State Aid Directorate of the General Secretariat for Natural Disaster Recovery and State Aid are in close communication with the Regions and the competent services, so that the work of the committees and state aid levels of the Regions can progress, with the result that in the coming days we will have new first aid supplies.

So far 3,400 businesses and farmers have received an advance payment of 50% of the state aid

In cooperation with the Region of Thessaly and the Region of Central Greece, the implementation of the state aid framework for businesses affected by the extreme flooding events of September 2023, as well as for agricultural holdings and livestock units for the damages to their equipment, foundations, land capital and other related from the same natural disasters, as stated in a statement by the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection.

The framework includes (a) the administration of first aid, (b) the granting of the advance payment of 50% of the state aid (incorporating the first aid granted), and (c) granting the final grant of State aid (incorporating the advance granted), which reaches 70% of the estimated damage with a maximum limit of 500,000 euros.

Thus, following the provision of first aid to businesses, agricultural holdings and livestock units affected by the unprecedented flooding phenomenathe granting of the advance payment of 50% sq. has started from December 2023of the grant of state aid. It is worth noting that the first aid to businesses, agricultural holdings and livestock units continues in the context of the second cycle of the first aid and has so far reached a total of 57.3 million euros.

Specifically, on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 and yesterday, Wednesday, March 13, 4,660,881 euros were paid, as an advance payment of 50% of the state aid grant, to 321 businesses, agricultural holdings and livestock units. At the same time, in 986 cases of businesses, agricultural holdings and livestock units, the first aid of a total amount of 2,726,000 euros, which had been granted, was offset by the amount corresponding to the amount of the advance payment of 50% of the state aid grant. Therefore, the phase of granting the advance payment of 50% of the state aid to businesses, agricultural holdings and livestock units has been completed for 3,403 beneficiaries with the total amount of the subsidy reaching 33,100,297 euros.

The general secretariat of Natural Disaster Recovery and State Aid, in a context of close cooperation with the committees and levels of state aid of the Region of Thessaly and the Region of Central Greece, continues the implementation of the framework of state aid, both with first aid payments and the payments of the advance of 50% of the final grant according to the flow of data from the Regions.
