At 2 in the morning, men of the Narcotics Prosecution together with their Commander, after making use of the information they had identified one of the two arrested police officers driving an official contract vehicle with the person of Albanian origin as a passenger and a stop signal was carried out to carry out a check.

The driver, however, continued on his way through the city of Igoumenitsa, disobeying the light and sound signals of the police and after a while he stopped due to a traffic accident.

In the control that followed inside the vehicle, 19 packages of raw cannabis weighing 102 kg and 670 grams were found and confiscated.

According to the Police announcement, the policeman driver was on night patrol duty, while it was found that his companion, who was also arrested after informing the competent Prosecutor, was in a different place in Thesprotia, having left his service pistol in the vehicle.

Mr. Seraphim Sansaridis, the lawyer of the policeman who had left the service pistol in his pocket and was found in a cafe in the area, said that his client denies the charges.

The traffic accident caused material damage to 3 parked cars and the official vehicle.
