A video of the rescue operation of the 29-year-old F-16 pilot from a passing ship, after the crash of the aircraft yesterday Wednesday on the island of Psathouracame to light.

As seen in the video the rescue took place under extremely bad conditions as the winds blowing in the area were strong resulting in huge waves.

The video was posted by the Sea Shepherd organization and shows the captain of the drifting vessel“Emmanuel Bronner” to talk about the difficulties of the rescue as he rushes to the site of the F-16 crash to collect the pilot who stayed for an hour and a half in the sea in his lifeboat.

“As soon as the port police informed us about the first F16 aircraft in Psathoura, we rushed to the scene. Luckily he didn’t need our help as well all went well for the young pilot. Our boat, captain and volunteers are always ready for any occasion where our input will be sought from local authorities”the message says.
