“By the summer we will have signed the first contracts, so that we can proceed with the installation of the contractors on the construction sites“, said the Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, responsible for Infrastructure, Nikos Tachiaos, from the Carditsa.

Following the work meetings that took place last week in the affected areas of Thessaly, Mr. Tachiaos visited, yesterday, successively the Municipalities of Karditsa, Limni Plastira and Argithea, where he met with the mayors, Vasilios Tsiakos, Panagiotis Nano and Andreas Stergiou and the competent officials of the Local Government, in order to discuss the necessary interventions that will be carried out in the area.

The Deputy Minister of Infrastructure, together with the group of consultants and engineers who accompanied him, presented the projects to the mayors, which will be included in the rehabilitation program of Thessaly and invited them to cooperate in finalizing the content of the interventions.

He assured that Thessaly is very high on the government’s agenda, as it is a place that should become a development model for the whole of Greece. “Our goal is to restore normality to the residents of the area“, he emphasized.

During his visits, the Deputy Minister of Infrastructure, once again, called on all officials to support the government’s work in prioritizing the projects, so that the installation of construction sites takes place as soon as possible and according to local needs.
