The EX30 was named World Urban Car [Παγκόσμιο Αστικό Αυτοκίνητο] for 2024, standing out among other competing nominations. The awards were presented today at the New York International Auto Show and our smallest SUV also took a place among the top three cars in the world, in a list that numbered 38 nominations.

“Achieving this title gives us great pleasure and fully confirms our ambitious electrification strategy,” says Jim Rowan, CEO of Volvo Cars. “Customer response to the EX30 has exceeded our expectations. It turns out to be a perfect car for today’s market conditions, as an increasing number of buyers switch to pure electric cars. I am confident that the EX30 will make a significant contribution to our growth this year and beyond.”

The EX30 was launched last summer to much acclaim and has already won major awards including The Sun Car of the Year, Small SUV/Crossover of the Year from the Sunday Times and Ecowarrior of the Year from Top Gear magazine.

The EX30 is a strong addition to our product range, which also includes highly attractive plug-in and mild hybrid models in several categories. These cars are an important bridge to achieving Volvo Cars’ goal of having only pure electric cars on the market by 2030.

Since its introduction, the EX30 has quickly become extremely popular among customers. Based on our order book, we expect it to be one of our best sellers this year.

It is the smallest SUV we have ever presented and is based on a specially designed electric car platform. In addition to zero emissions, the EX30 has been developed with the smallest possible carbon footprint in mind throughout its life cycle.

Interested customers can choose between three electric drive systems:
• The Single Motor version with a 272 hp (200kW) engine and a 51kWh battery.
• The Single Motor Extended Range version with a larger capacity 69kWh battery.
• And the Twin Motor Performance version with two electric motors with a total output of 428 hp (315kW) and a 69kWh battery.

The EX30 offers a driving range of up to 476 km and its battery can be recharged from 10% to 80% capacity in just over 25 minutes.
