The auditors of the Independent Public Revenue Authority brought to light a serious case of systematic tax evasion.
It concerns concealment of income and non-payment of VAT worth millions of euros from a well-known nightclub in Athens.
The operation was initially audited in late September. The Authority found significant discrepancies between what was declared and what was recorded by the tax mechanisms.
The company’s accountants did not provide the required documents and invoices within the deadline provided by law. The auditors of AADE proceeded to the imposition of fines and began to analyze the data at their disposal.
The audits showed that in the nine months of January – September 2021, the company had hidden revenues over 3 million euros, not paying VAT worth 700,000 euros.
In addition, the concealment of revenues for 2019 and 2020 exceeded 2 million euros and the VAT not reimbursed 500,000 euros.
The audit continues in the company’s books for past uses and has also been extended to individuals associated with it.
