Police officers of the Property Crimes Department of the Attica Security Directorate proceeded on Friday (12/4) in Zografou to arrest two young men, aged 19 and 21, against whom a case file was filed for serial, accomplice and follow-up robberies, violence against officers and violation of the weapons law.

According to ELAS, the investigation revealed that since December 2023, the defendants committed armed robberies with the use of a knife in shops in the Zografou area.

In particular, the 19-year-old, with the assistance of the 21-year-old who had the role of driver, went mainly in the afternoon and evening hours to mini markets, where with the threat of a knife he immobilized the employees and removed sums of money from the cash registers.

The police officers, after investigation and data analysis, identified the defendants and arrested them when they left the Zografou Campus in a vehicle where they had fled after a robbery they had committed a little earlier at a gambling agency.

From the searches carried out in the vehicle and in 2 houses, a total of the following were found and seized:

• knife and plastic glove used during the robbery at the gambling agency,

• folding hand gun,

• cartridge launcher and

• the sum of 650 euros.

As it became known from the Police, so far 11 robberies have been solved in the area of ​​Zografou, while the investigations for the full verification of their criminal activity continue.

Those arrested, with the case filed against them, were taken to the competent prosecutor’s office.
