The incident happened at Lykei Domokos, while students and a teacher were inside the room
The students of Lyceum Domokos were lucky, who during the lesson in a school hall, fell from the ceiling, part of the false ceiling that held a light fixture, fortunately without anyone being injured.
The teacher who had a lesson in that class at noon on Thursday (18/4) was equally lucky.
Engineers and an electrician from the Municipality were immediately on the scene to repair the damage and according to LamiaReport, the school is operating normally today.
It is noted that the specific Domokos Gymnasium – Lyceum building, as well as the town’s primary schools (plus the kindergarten), as well as the schools of the New Monastery of Domokos, are in the restoration program undertaken by the Hellenic Shipbuilders’ Union (EEE), for the damage suffered by storms Daniel and ELias last September.
The specific building, like the rest, has been checked by at least three levels of engineers, the Ministry, the company that has undertaken the project for the EEE and of course the Municipality of Domokos. However, by order of the Mayor Babis Lioliou, the cause of the specific damage is already being investigated by the technical service of the Municipality.
