The 24,000 lawyers of Athens are invited to vote whether or not they want the new Judicial Charter concerning the prefecture of Attica
Start it referendum which the Board of Directors of the Athens Bar Association (DSA) decided regarding the creation of 5 regional Courts of First Instance in Attica, in accordance with the Ministry of Justice bill for the new Judicial Charter.
The polls will remain open until Holy Monday, April 29, 2024.
The 24,300 lawyers of Athens are invited to vote whether or not they want the new Judicial Charter for the part that concerns the prefecture of Attica.
Particularly, the referendum will be held at the DSA offices (Akadimias 60), at the Athens Court of First Instance, the Athens Magistrate’s Court, the Athens Administrative Court of First Instance and the Athens Court of Appeal and electronically through the Olomeleia Portal.
In detail, voting for the holding of the referendum will take place in person in seven divisions as follows:
- In two departments at the Court of First Instance of Athens (buildings 2 and 12), from Monday 4-22-2024 to Friday 4-26-2024 and Monday 4-29-2024, from 08:00 to 16:00: 00.
- In a section of the Athens Magistrate’s Court (DSA offices: room 045 – entrance from Degleri), from Monday 4-22-2024 until Friday 4-26-2024 and Monday 4-29-2024, from 08: 00 to 16:00.
- In a department at the Administrative Court of First Instance of Athens (DSA offices: 1st floor office 107), from Monday 4-22-2024 until Friday 4-26-2024 and Monday 4-29-2024, from 08:00 until 16:00.
- In a section at the Athens Court of Appeal (DSA offices, 3rd floor), from Monday 4-22-2024 to Friday 4-26-2024 and Monday 4-29-2024, from 08:00 to 16:00: 00.
- In two sections at the Athens Bar Association (“Michalis Ep. Zafeiropoulos” event hall) from Monday 4-22-2024 to Friday 4-26-2024 and Monday 4-29-2024, from 08:00 until 18:00.
As specified in an announcement by the DSA, all lawyers who are members of the Athens Bar Association registered in the register until 4-16-2024 have the right to vote, regardless of whether they have submitted an annual statement or are suspended.
Lawyers will be able to exercise their right to vote in person at any of the said seven polling stations and there will be a “NO” or “YES” ballot and a blank ballot.
Voters must bring with them their lawyer ID or any document proving their identity (police ID, passport, insurance book, etc.).
Also from today, electronic voting has started which will end on M. Monday 29-4-2024 at 18:00 in the afternoon.
