The hooligans are “burned” by the rich video material that the authorities have in their possession and captures the bloody episodes that claimed the life of the police officer Giorgos Lyggeridis.

The 8.5 gigabyte videos significantly helped the work of the authorities who, through the cameras, were able to make all the necessary cross-references of faces and thus identify the accused.

The detainees, being in a panic, themselves gave the authorities the videos they took and saved on memory cards and mobile phones.

The footage is in excellent clarity and fully captures what prevailed both off and on the pitch, before, after and during the violent riots.

In a characteristic video from inside the stadium, immediately after the murderous blow, one can see the disturbance that prevails as the gate of the organized fans has been emptied.

At the same time, the videos recorded by closed-circuit cameras outside the stadium are also highly illuminating for the authorities’ investigation.

Indicative is the content of video material from a closed-circuit camera, on the street outside the stadium’s facilities, since it records frame-by-frame the moment when a MAT platoon is attacked with Molotov cocktails by the perpetrators.

In the same video, a few moments after the arrival of the EKAV ambulance that rushes to the unfortunate Lyggeridis, accompanied by police officers, is captured, and is also attacked.

The fury of the hooligans is such that they continued to throw Molotov cocktails even when Giorgos Lyggeridis was already on the ground, seriously injured.

Another video from a closed-circuit camera, finally, captures the convoy of the perpetrators who, having now been equipped with weapons, are marching with motorbikes and rented cars towards the “Melina Merkouri” stadium in the Rentis area.
