Gang, which consisted mainly of minors, had a hierarchy that referred to a criminal organization, and allegedly trafficked drugs to Papagou/ Cholargo, Psychiko and Chalandri dismantled the Juvenile Delinquency Department of the Juvenile Protection Sub-Directorate of the Attica Security Directorate.

It is noted that a few days ago a similar case involving the dismantling of a drug trafficking gang, including minors, became known on Saturday in Patras.

They were located and arrested by the police nine gang members, including six minors and three youths.

A case was filed against them for establishment and participation in criminal drug trafficking organization and as the case may be, for violating the laws on weapons and flares. Also, a 27-year-old man was arrested for violating the legislation on addictive substances.

According to police sources it all started after complaint made by the parents of a minor girl that their daughter obtained drugs from the gang.

As it emerged from the investigation, the defendants had set up a criminal organization with structured, sustained and methodical action from November 2023 on the trafficking of narcotics and distinct to all of its nine members.

The organization in question was active in squares and parks of Psychikos, Papagos and Chalandrio, where minors were supplied with drugs by the gang, after their members had previously arranged to meet through phone calls and text messages. Also, the members, by staying in the parks and squares, attracted new prospective buyers.

Gang members communicated with each other to determine responsibilities through online applications. In their conversations, they addressed each other by nicknames and they used special wordswhen referring to the quantities of drugs they traded and the amounts of money.

In the gang’s operational environment, members received orders and instructions to carry out all stages of trafficking, on “where”, “when” and “to whom” to deliver the substances, from two members (20 years old) which were also the principal ones. A 16-year-old member also played a key role, informing the chiefs about the money they got from the sales and about the movements of all the members.

The narcotic substances found during the body search of the members of the organization were carefully hidden in underwear.

The arrested were taken to the competent Prosecutor.

Both from the physical searches of the members of the organization, as well as from the searches of their homes, the following were found and confiscated:

  • 183.37 grams raw cannabis,
  • 6 graters,
  • scale,
  • nylon packaging for drug distribution, suitable for trafficking,
  • 2 air pistols with 7 metal packages containing a number of pellets,
  • nautical flare,
  • bayonet,
  • 5 folding knives (knife and butterfly)
  • full face hood,
  • “business” mobile phones,
  • handwritten notes and
  • The sums of 12,667 euros and 200 dollars
