The final decisions are expected today
It is expected to be announced today how the means of transport will move tomorrow May Day.
The strike, by decision of the Ministry of Labour, has been moved to Easter Tuesday however, several sectors have announced strike action, including transport.
GSEE and ADEDY call for a 24-hour general strike for Labor Day, Wednesday, May 1st, at the union rally at 11.00 am, in Klathmonos Square, and at the rallies of the labor centers.
How will the means of transport move?
The Panhellenic Federation of Railways and Stationary Means has decided to go on strike, participating in the call of GSEE, on Wednesday, May 1st, due to the celebration of May Day 2024. The means of fixed track, i.e. metro, tram and electric, are on strike.
Final decisions on how transport will move on Holy Wednesday are expected to be announced today.
With a work stop from the start of the shift until 9 am. and then from 9 p.m. until the end of the shift, OASA workers will participate in the mobilizations for Labor Day on Holy Wednesday. Therefore, the buses will run in the aforementioned time period.
Hellenic Train: How the trains will run on May Day
According to an update from Hellenic Train, in order to better serve the passenger public, the following itineraries will be carried out with security personnel:
·On ​​the Athens – Thessaloniki – Athens section: 52,53,56 and 57
·On ​​the Larissa – Thessaloniki – Larissa section: 1591,1592,2593,2594,1597 and 1598
·On ​​the Piraeus – Kiato – Piraeus section: 1300,1305,1318,1323,1326 and 2301
·On ​​the Piraeus – Airport – Piraeus section: 1206,1207,1222,1223,1230 and 1231
·On ​​the Athens – Chalkida – Athens section: 1532,1535,1550,1553,2530 and 2533
In the Kiato – Patra – Kiato section, the following bus routes will take place:
From Patras C15 (14:25) and C23 (18:25)
From Kiato C14 (16:05) and C24 (20:05)
Also, due to the strike, the following itineraries are modified:
In the Piraeus-Kiato-Piraeus section:
Today, M. Tuesday (4/30), trains 2302 and 2304 will run their route from Piraeus to Ano Liosia by train and in the Ano Liosia – Kiato section they will be replaced by buses.
In the Athens-Chalkida-Athens section:
On M. Tuesday 30.04.2024 train 2534 will run from Athens to Afidnai by train and in the Afidnai – Chalkida section it will be replaced by a bus. Also, train 2539 in the Chalkida – Oinoi section will be replaced by a bus.

Ships tied up in ports
The ships will be tied up in the ports tomorrow, tomorrow May Day which coincides with the departure of the Easter excursionists as the Panhellenic Maritime Federation has decided to participate in the pan-Hellenic 24-hour strike announced by the GSEE.
The strike, which concerns all categories of ships nationwide, will begin at 00:01 in the early hours of Holy Wednesday 1/5 and will end at 24:00 of the same day.
