The reaction of the butchers’ union of Volos was caused by the statements of their president of breeders of Magnesia, Mr. Giorgos Terzakis for lambs placed on the market.

His announcement in more detail Volos Butchers Association:

“It has come to the knowledge of our Association that a gentleman, who presents himself as the president of a breeders’ association, has announced that the great majority of lambs sold in the prefecture of Magnesia are not of Greek origin.

Both our association, our members, as well as the competent regulatory authorities, having as our primary concern the safety of the consumer public and the protection of the market, we religiously observe the current legislation and always operate with our primary concern being absolute respect for the citizens.

With these data, we have to announce that for the above lies, which have been spread, we have instructed our association’s lawyer to take legal action against the above gentleman and those who have helped him in the spreads he has made, without failing to file a lawsuit against him for the offenses he committed with his announcement.”
