Draconian security measures for the arrival of the head of state ELAS receives ahead of the visit of the Albanian prime minister Eddie Rama. The Albanian authorities, according to police sources, are behaving as if it is a “private visit” by giving confused information, as they initially said that Mr. Rama would arrive at 7 pm on Saturday, but he will finally arrive in Athens on Sunday morning before the event.

As for the security arrangements for Edi Rama, it looks like they will be provided at least 1,000 police officers (MAT, EKAM, OPKE, DIAS, Security, Traffic) with the number increasing or decreasing according to needs.

Watch Rama’s “pre-election press” spot for the visit:

Initially, a “clean route” will be created, as typically reported by ELAS sources, from the airport to Galatsi with unimpeded passage and with ground and aerial surveillance. On Saturday, the Galatsi indoor gym will be “sterilized” by trained dogs and special devices to detect explosive devices, and it will be sealed, monitored and have controlled access. Drones and helicopters will constantly monitor the area, while snipers from EKAM will be at selected points.

At the same time, it will be strengthenedthe information network from the EYP and the anti-terrorist service, while there will also be a follow-up on social media. If in the end there is a possibility of the Prime Minister of Albania staying overnight in our country, possibly to change routes and safety plan.
