Papagelopoulos was called to apologize for the Novartis case

THE interrogator of Special Court on the responsibility of ministers in her case Novartis Konstantina Alevizopoulou sent a call for apology to the former Deputy Minister of Justice Dimitris Papagelopoulosin order to March 15, 2022 to appear in investigative office.

Mr. Papagelopoulos except 8 offenses facing for the interventions attributed to him in her case Novartisis attributed to him and attempted blackmail of businessman Sambi Mioni after complaint of the last.

In particular, the accusations against Mr. Papagelopoulos, regarding the Novartis case are:

1. Moral instigation in a criminal abuse of power (article 46 par. 1 in combination with no. 239 of the Penal Code),

2. Moral instigation in misdemeanor abuse of power (no. 46 par. 1 in combination with no. 239 of the Penal Code),

3. Moral instigation in breach of duty (no. 46 par. 1 in combination with no. 259 of the Penal Code),

4. Continuous breach of duty (P.K. 259 independently),

5. Attempt of extortion (no. 385 par. 1 per. C of old PK of article 385 par. 1 and 3 of PK as in force after the entry into force of law 4619/2019),

6. Bribery of a political official (no. 159 par. 1 of old and new PK)

7. Bribery of an employee (no. 235 of the Penal Code) and

8. Criminal organization (gang) – no. 187 par. 5 of old P.K. and par. 3 of new P.K.).

At the same time, the former head of the Corruption Prosecutor’s Office Eleni Touloupaki has received a deadline to apologize on March 2, 2022, but is expected to request a new, second, deadline.

Also, the journalist Gianna Papadakou, who is involved in the Novartis case, approached the investigator today and asked for a new, third in a row, deadline to apologize, as Dimitris Tsovolas’s lawyer for health reasons will abstain from his defensive role. The new deadline is for March 3, 2022.
