Pleaded guilty to dangerous bodily harm, with prior cohabitation mitigating factors
Two young men were sentenced to 12 months in prison, with a 3-year suspension, by the Single-member Criminal Court of Thessaloniki, who were found guilty of beating a football player of the second team of PAOK and one of his friends, in October 2022, after a night of entertainment, in the port of Thessaloniki.
They were found guilty of dangerous bodily harm, with prior cohabitation mitigating factors. From the evidentiary process, it did not emerge that the cause of the incident was of a fan nature.
The two victims (21 years old), who attended the trial in support of the charge, were examined by the court testifying that they were attacked unprovoked. Through their advocates, they presented medical reports on the injuries they suffered, due to which they had to be hospitalized.
In his statement, the first defendant (23 years old) stated that he was under the influence of alcohol and that he was very agitated. He also emphasized that during the fight that followed he was also hit, while he apologized for his act, taking the responsibility that belongs to him. His 24-year-old co-accused apologized for intervening in the incident in an attempt to separate the two sides.
