The students demonstrating their solidarity with the Palestinian people in Propylaea left dozens of lanterns in the sky.

A special moment in the gathering was when Palestinians living in Greece danced a proud dance from their homeland, spreading shivers of emotion but also of optimism that “this people will not bow their heads!”.

During the event, various actions are taking place in the Propylaia area, such as that of the students of the School of Fine Arts who created a large mural on the spot inspired by the resistance of the Palestinian people.

The gathering began with the “thank you” of Palestine Suzan Tayseer Salam, head of the Union of Palestinian Trade Unions who joined her voice with the thousands gathered in the Propylaia by telephone.

“From Palestine I call on you to strengthen the struggle even more, to raise our voices loudly and to make every effort to stop the attack against Palestine and the Gaza Strip, especially against Rafah,” she said, beginning her greeting .

“In order to understand the magnitude of the crime committed by the state – the killer of Israel, he mentioned the fact that at this moment in Rafa, that is, in 20% of an area the size of Andros, 1.5 million people have gathered who at this moment they are threatened by hunger and epidemics,” he said.

Concluding her greeting, she emphasized that “what is happening in Palestine is a crime against all humanity, Israel-USA-NATO-EU are murdering the people of Palestine” and underlined that “no matter what they do we will not give in, Palestine will not yield, freedom for Palestine!’

Rahim Shikha, a Palestinian student, addressed the gathering on behalf of the General Union of Palestinian Students who, among other things, noted:

“The situation in our country is dramatic! Daily images of slaughtered children and women are released revealing just a few of the brutal crimes committed by Israel’s killing machine! This situation, no matter how much the USA-NATO-EU tries to hide it, to “bury” it, to justify it, that is to say to justify the crimes of the murderous state of Israel, they ate their faces off with the mass marches and reactions of peoples, with the great mobilizations of students worldwide!”.

The overnight protest in Propylaia was greeted by Niki Chronopoulou, president of the Federation of Administrative Staff of Higher Education and KKE MEP candidate, who, among other things, emphasized:

“University workers join our voices with our students, we all become a link in the great chain of the entire university community that is rising up in our country but also in dozens of countries around the world, against the massacre of the Palestinian people.

We are another link in the chain of workers who do not tolerate their country participating in the slaughter! From the dockers in Livorno, Italy who refused to load arms for Israel, the workers in Britain who boycotted Israeli arms factories to the workers and University students at Columbia and hundreds of universities who refuse to surrender their students to the administrations! Whatever they do the slogan “Freedom in Palestine” will always be heard louder, in all languages and in all countries of the world! That is why we continue our struggle demanding that the genocide of the Palestinian people be stopped here and now!”
