Increased to 13,595 beneficiaries – Detailed supporting documents required – Where are the 14 camps
In expansion of camp program for children, the elderly and people with disabilities, the Ministry of Social Cohesion and Family is proceeding by significantly increasing the number of beneficiaries as well as the individual camp periods.
Places for people with disabilities are almost double the corresponding places in the 2019 program which were just 2,820 people. The increase is of the order of 54.20%. In 2023, 3,060 children and adults with disabilities were accommodated in the Children’s Countryside camps.
The total number of beneficiaries from 12,350 in 2023 increases this year to 13,595. 7,425 are children, 1,820 elderly and 4,350 people with disabilities (children and adults).
Registration of campers – except for people with disabilities – will be done in the municipalities that will operate camps, until June 14, 2024.
The procedures for applications, selection and participation of persons with disabilities will be defined by a new joint ministerial decision.
Where are the 14 camps – how many seasons will they be running
The camps, the number and categories of guests, as well as their 10-day operating periods are as follows:
1. Agios Andreas Attica 1,750 disabled and elderly
* 1,500 people with disabilities – 5 periods X 300 beneficiaries
* 250 seniors – 1 term
2. Kerateas Attica: 1,440 children
*6 periods with 240 per period
3. Agia Paraskevi Larisa: 780 children, disabled, elderly
* 510 children – 3 periods X 170 children,
* 200 people with disabilities – 2 periods X 100 people with disabilities
* 70 seniors – 1 period
4. Stavrou Thessaloniki 1,100 children, disabled, elderly
* 440 children – 2 periods X 220 children
* 300 disabled people – 2 periods X 150 disabled people
* 360 elderly people – 2 periods X 180 beneficiaries
5. Transformation of Halkidiki: 1,200 children, disabled, elderly
* 440 children – 2 periods X 220 children
* 510 people with disabilities – 3 periods X 170 beneficiaries
* 250 elderly people – 1 period X 250 beneficiaries
6. Nea Peramou Kavala: 1,760 children, disabled, elderly
* 800 children – 2 periods X 250 children and 1 period X 300 children,
* 600 people with disabilities – 4 periods X 150 PWDs
*360 elderly people – 2 periods X 180 beneficiaries
7. Makris Alexandroupolis: 1,120 children and the disabled
* 950 children and 170 Persons with Disabilities in mixed periods – 5 periods X 220 children and PWD).
8. Agia Marina Messinia: 610 children, disabled, elderly
* 510 people (300 children and 210 People with Disabilities in mixed periods) – 3 periods X 150 children and PWDs)
* 100 elderly people – 1 period X 100 beneficiaries.
9. Amfilochia: 900 children and the disabled
* 800 children and 100 Persons with Disabilities in mixed periods – 4 periods X 225 children and PWDs
10. Karditsa: 640 children and elderly
* 510 children – 3 periods X 170 children
* 130 seniors – 1 period
11. Corfu: 370 children, disabled, elderly
* 210 children and 60 Persons with Disabilities in mixed periods – 3 periods X 90 children and PWDs)

12. Olympiad: 550 people with disabilities – 5 periods
13. Chania: 1,075 children, disabled, elderly

The supporting documents required for registration
To register children, you need:
• Application of the parent or guardian to the Municipality that has the responsibility of organizing and running the camp in which the name, gender and age of the child are written.
• Responsible Declaration of the parent or guardian stating the amount of the annual family income of the previous year, the number of protected members, the ages of the children, the type of family (e.g. single-child, three-child, multiple-child), other social characteristics (e.g. beneficiaries of the Minimum Guaranteed Income, unemployed, uninsured, in a state of poverty, families in crisis, population minorities, etc.).
• Certificate from a private doctor or a doctor from the insurance company which must state: the health status of the child, his vaccination with the mandatory vaccines, that he does not suffer from contagious diseases, that his general state of health allows him to participate in a camp program and any other observations (medication, allergies, etc.).
For the registration of elderly people it is necessary:
- Application to the Municipality of the person responsible for organizing and running the camp.
- Responsible statement that will state the amount of his family or individual income.
- A certificate from a private doctor or a doctor from the insurance company which must state that he does not suffer from contagious diseases and that his general state of health allows him to participate in a camp program.
Applications are sent individually or collectively through the KAPIs that each elderly person participates in.
Program participation amount – who is excluded
The participation amount for campers is set at 30.00 euros.
Excluded:
- the children of large and three-child families, of families where one or both parents are unemployed as well as of families that are beneficiaries of the Minimum Guaranteed Income,
- people with disabilities regardless of the program they participate in,
- elderly persons beneficiaries of the Minimum Guaranteed Income.
