In 28 arrests the authorities proceeded with the operation today Tuesday at the Athens Law School, after the raid they carried out in the morning in the occupied building.
The police operation was planned and implemented by police officers of the State Security Sub-Directorate of the Attica Security Directorate in the morning hours today, Tuesday, May 14, 2024, in the premises of the Athens Law School.
The operation ended shortly before 12 noon and the Police proceeded with arrests which later turned into arrests. Specifically, EL.AS proceeded to arrest of 18 women and 10 men of which -9- foreigners [1 Ισπανός, 3 Γαλλίδες, 2 Γερμανίδες 2 Ιταλίδες και 1 Αγγλίδα]against whom a case file was filed for the -as the case may be- offenses of disturbing domestic peace, damage to foreign property, disloyalty as well as violations of the laws on weapons and flares.
It is noted that the process of deportation begins for the foreigners arrested.
A survey carried out showed that the foreigners have no connection with the School, while -15- of the nationals declared that they are students.
The building has been under occupation since Monday night as a sign of solidarity with the Palestinian people. The squatters had put up banners with pro-Palestinian slogans.
In total, smoke machines, bats, flags, masks, helmets, banners, clothing and a multitude of handwritten notes and leaflets of anarchist content were found and confiscated from the sites searched.
Those arrested will be prosecuted accordingly.
