Prosecutor Christos Dzouras requests the referral to trial of the 18 defendants included in the second case filed for the sexual exploitation of the 12-year-old
The referral to trial of the 18 accused which are included in the second file filed for her sexual exploitation 12 years old from Colonos recommends to the competent judicial advisorthe prosecutor Christos Dzouras.
In his proposal, Mr. Dzouras describes in 80 pages the second case that was opened before the judicial authorities in order to raise issues with statutes of limitations and the temporary detentions of the defendants of the first case with the protagonist being the 55-year-old sentenced to life and 27 years in prison, a businessman in the area of Colonus. According to the public prosecutor, all eighteen defendants, alleged “clients” in the brutality experienced by the girl, must be brought to trial before the Joint Jury Court.
The defendants are charged with the felony of sexual acts with a minor who, as the case may be, has not completed 12 years of age or who has not completed 15 years of age. In some cases, the prosecutor’s proposal also concerns the offense of child pornography.
The defendants in the second case have been identified from statements given by the child about what he experienced two years ago in Colonos.
At the same time, Mr. Dzouras requests for those of the defendants who are temporary prisoners, to extend their detention.
With his proposal, the Prosecutor also requests that it be investigated whether the evidence of the interrogation indicates the participation of the 55-year-old businessman in acts that also concern this case file.
It should be noted that for the case of the sexual abuse of the minor, 19 defendants were convicted in April, with the main ones being the 55-year-old, but also the so-called “Michalis” who was sentenced to 18 years in prison. Both are serving time in prison.
17 “clients” were also sentenced to sentences ranging from 13 months (who were charged only with pornography) to 7 years, a sentence that concerns defendants who met the girl more than once.
Finally, the mother of the minor was sentenced to 20 months in prison for extorting the 55-year-old, while she was found not guilty of prostitution of her child. The mother’s acquittal has been appealed by the Public Prosecutor’s Office and thus the 37-year-old will be tried again for pimping.
The court acquitted six accused as “clients”.
