The unveiling of the first official portrait of King Charles after his coronation took place yesterday at Buckingham Palace. It is a grainy oil painting of enormous dimensions – 2.40 meters long and 1.87 meters wide – with a quite… modern (by Buckingham standards) “look”.

Although Queen Camilla was delighted when she saw the painting, King Charles rather “freaked out”.

When he made the revelation himself, the camera caught his reaction – he looks momentarily shocked by the result.

Netizens took the snap viral with many “sharing” the king’s reaction. Still others said that Charles was merely shaken with a “shishasiya” when the cloth with which the portrait was covered fell on him and touched him momentarily.

The painting divided the British, with some loving it and others hating it (and many trolling it).

Many found the portrait “creepy” and disturbing” to look at.”

“It’s the ugliest thing I’ve ever seen,” web show host Graham Allen wrote on X.

Still others were delighted with the painting. “I like. I think it delves into the king’s personality in a complicated way,” wrote one X user.
