At the anniversary event for the 100th anniversary of the presence of Saint John the Russian in Evia, which took place on Wednesday, May 15, Metropolitan Mr. Chrysostomos made the revelation that the right hand of the Saint was found and that on Monday, May 27, the day of feast of the Saint, the hand will be reunited with the rest of the incorruptible holy relic.

It is a part (part of the palm and fingers), which had ended up in a family, who kept it for decades.

This family decided, on the occasion of this year’s anniversary of the arrival of the holy tabernacle in Evia, to grant it to the Holy Pilgrimage, so that the hand can be reunited with the rest of the tabernacle.

Another part of the Saint’s right hand was donated in 1881 to Panteleimon Monastery of Mount Athosfor her assistance in the construction of the church of Saint John the Russian, in Cappadocia and is still there.

The arrival of the right hand of the Saint will take place on his feast day on 27/5 in a ceremony inside the Church and before the procession of the sacred tabernacle.
