At 10:00 am today, the commencement of entrance examinations to fill 1,794 seats in Standard Schools of the territory will take place.

More specifically, the exams concern the admission of students to the introductory classes (A’ Gymnasium/A’ Lyceum) of the Standards and to the A’ Gymnasium/A’ Lyceum classes of Church schools.

According to what has been announced by the Steering Committee of Standard and Experimental Schools, the duration of the written test is:

– 150 minutes for High Schools and

– 225 minutes for Ecclesiastical High Schools,

– 180 minutes for High Schools and

– 240 minutes for Ecclesiastical High Schools.

For candidates with special educational needs, their examination time is extended by 45 minutes.

Also, possible withdrawal is given one hour after the start of the written test.

Candidates will be assessed in two subjects, language and mathematics, and assessment questions will be closed type/multiple choice. Candidates for Church schools will be additionally examined in the religion course.

It is worth noting that, in total, this year, 9,454 applications were submitted to participate in the exams, according to the Ministry of Education.

Finally, it is recalled that yesterday, Friday, the public lottery was held for admission to the Experimental schools, as well as the process of assigning a random Priority Number, in case of a tie in the Standard Schools.
