In a packed Toumba, in the stands as well as the playing field, and on a platform that had been set up for the occasion, the awarding of the Super League championship of the 2023/24 season to PAOK took place in the early hours of Monday (20/5).
After the end of the match, hundreds of sports fans lit torches in the center of the city, near the White Tower, and set off fireworks in Toumba and other areas of the city, breaking out into wild celebrations.
Shortly after 2 in the morning, the open bus, in which the Dikefalos players were riding, turned from Tsimiski Street to go down towards the White Tower, for the triumphal march, while thousands of PAOK fans had filled the streets and were cheering champions.
Four arrests
Four PAOK fans were arrested on Sunday night by police officers of the DIAS team, shortly after the “Dikephalos” championship victory over Aris at “Cleanthis Vikelidis”.
According to the information, the arrested were moving on two-wheelers from the area of Toumba towards the area of Harilaou. It is estimated that they were on their way to the PAOK mission bus, in order to accompany it to the White Tower, for the celebrations.
Police officers of the DI.AS. they checked the fans near Nikolaou Plastira Street and they were arrested because they were carrying small amounts of drugs, a folding knife and a torch.
