If there were personal invitations, they would say “bring children, dogs, the whole family, friends, company and your… swimsuit”, since given the spectacle of 200 classic cars of Alimos Classic Car Sunday V, the motto is now ” don’t come to Alimos for a walk, come for a day trip.”

Thus, the modern fairy tale of a bygone, romantic era that unfolds this Sunday, May 26 in Alimos, has modern visual, auditory, and also gustatory temptations. And this given that the Alimos Classic Car Sunday V institution (where the V symbolizes the fifth and longest year of this unique in the world… coastal line-up of expensive and unique classic cars, from all the major car clubs of the country, but also from private collections and the symbolic presence of the Hellenic Automobile Museum,) wants… have a good time!

The word “inseparable” is practically abolished, and thus the 400 meters of promenade, next to the sea, will host more than 200 classic cars of all decades and all models. In the special VIC (Very Important Car) section, on a lush lawn, the rarest historical ones are housed, but in the company of sparkling Ferraris, Jaguars and Lamborghinis and other future classics, of the whole spectrum where seven Lotus Elans and its collection will make an impression of Ariantique.

The past meets the future, with the unique Izetta and the cute Fiat 500, next to their current electric descendants, while meters below the TV star Kit poses proudly, leading an impressive group of American muscle cars where the youth, mainly, will admire open huge Cadillacs and imposing Stingrays. The value of the “exhibits” is estimated at several million euros, although it is difficult to put a realistic price on museum pieces.
“It turned out that both in terms of entertainment and culture, the ACCS established itself in the minds of classic owners as well as the thousands of visitors, as the biggest event of the year,” said the mayor of Alimos, Andreas Kondylis, adding: “Each car “tows” a whole story and the visitor can see in 3D, in front of him, the evolution of designs and mechanisms and “enter” for the first time inside the wonderful motors that have kept these masterpieces “alive” on the road for so many decades. In this sense, the ACCS is an ephemeral museum and, as always, the impeccable organization of Nikos Mastorakis is invaluable.”

Nikos Mastorakis, initiator and chief of the expensive and impressive show, said: “We are proud to have reached the fifth and largest ACCS, with the perfect cooperation of Dimos Alimos and the inspiration of Andreas Kondylis, and we celebrate this success with a “fan” entertainment including non-stop 60’s hits from Radio Gold, street food delicacies of that era with burgers, hot dogs and donuts from Volks Bar, ice creams and cocktails, all kinds of coffee and a Gift Shop where guests can get souvenirs ( hats, t-shirts, mugs, posters) at prices… sixties. But again this year, with free lotteries, one lucky person will win… the Rolls Royce of the municipality of Alimos, for one Sunday, with a chauffeur and a meal for 4 people. With us for another year, SISPA, ORKA, SDIO, Fiat 500, ELKA and, of course, FILPA, the first historic classic car club (where I am a founding member) and the Hellenic Automobile Museum, as well as the Paris Iliadis with the best of his collection. But for me, the presence of PPC blue again this year, which is a promise of tomorrow through electrification, is particularly important.”

The awards provided (most beautiful classic, most important historical, most impressive future classic) will be given on site at the end of the event and include gold-plated commemorative plaques, impressive FILPA albums and medal sets and “freedom” to Cine Alimos throughout the summer.

ACCS V rolls up to the public at 13:00 this Sunday, May 26, and the four-wheeled masterpieces stay there until 19:00 as an open invitation to a one-day excursion, suitable not only for “fanatics” of the genre but and for entire families with children.

The entrance, of course, is free and the access to the promenade of Alimos by tram or bus, easy and short.
