As Mrs. Michailidou said, “our policies focus on our fellow citizens. In this context, the upgrade of the Social Security Office in Karpathos, which serves 3,500 directly and indirectly insured fellow citizens, many of whom are pensioners from abroad, and 1,100 businesses on the island and Kasos is part of this. What is taken for granted today was not, until recently, with the result that the insured and the businessmen of the island were forced to move to Rhodes, in order to be served. Not anymore”.
During her stay on the sandy island, the Minister of Labor visited the Port Authority of Karpathos, where she spoke with the new Port Authority of Karpathos, Plotarch Miltiadis Zois, while she had the opportunity to talk with citizens and businessmen in Pigadia.
The second stop of her visit to Karpathos was the EFKA offices, where, together with the Agency’s commander, Alexandros Varveris, she spoke with the service’s employees and insured persons.
Afterwards, Mrs. Michailidou met with the mayor of Karpathos, Michael Fellouzis, with the vice-mayors, as well as with the governor of the Karpathos Hospital, Vasilios Stasinopoulos, at the island’s Town Hall and, subsequently, she had the opportunity to tour with the Prefecture Karpathou-Ir. Kasos Kalliopi Nikolaidou and in the village of Arkasa, where he spoke with businessmen and citizens.
