A relatively similar case of corruption is in the hands of the “corrupt” members of EL.AS.
At a time when the country is dominated by the smell of the stinking case of corruption in the DOU of Chalkida, yesterday’s development in the Region of Thessaly, where six employees were put on holiday for funding, came to intensify the social reflection on the “depth” of the rot in the public sector.
According to his secure information onlarissa.gr yesterday’s development that led to the signing by Regional Governor of Thessaly, Mr. Dimitris Koureta of the declaratory act by which six employees were put on self-righteous holiday, concerns a case of 2020, in the neighboring Trikala and specifically in the Directorate of Transport.
There, after an investigation by the “corrupt” members of the Hellenic Police, “irregularities” were found in cases of issuing driver’s licenses, with the result that – along with the criminal part – the procedures provided for by the civil service code, from the then Regional Governor Mr. Agorastos. Mr. Agorastos had put the employees on holiday to follow a Sworn Administrative Examination and a two-year suspension from their duties, which was the highest penalty he could impose.
This was followed by the disciplinary penalty of permanent suspension by the Secondary Disciplinary Council, which however – according to onlarissa.gr – was completed over a period of more than two years, as a result of which they returned to their duties. With the notification of the relevant decision by the Secondary Disciplinary Council of the Ministry of the Interior, Mr. Kouretas proceeded with the prescribed procedure, while it is worth noting that the six employees have the right to “offend” the decision.
From the report of onlarissa.gr it also appears that a relatively similar case of corruption in the state “gears” was revealed in 2022 at the Transport Directorate of Karditsa. It involves three employees and three individuals with professional connections. For this specific case, all the prescribed procedures also took place, awaiting the decision from the Second-tier Disciplinary Council.
Both cases, however, are allegedly “connected” by “incorruptible” of EL.AS. with elements that put those involved in a particularly difficult position…
