Optimistic about the election result that may have 2 ahead, he appeared president of SYRIZA-PS, Stefanos Kasselakis in an interview he gave on the morning show of ANT1.

Specifically, he said: “We are close to achieving 2 in front of our percentage. Society will breathe new life. We are a party that was considered finished a few months ago. We have risen, we have laid solid foundations and we have power in society. We want less austerity, we will try to change the primary surpluses. Society is not a company, we must invest in society with long-term returns.”

Responding to a related question, he said: “I did not make an opening to party leaders, I made an opening to the progressive center that is currently being deceived by Kyriakos Mitsotakis who co-rules with the extreme right of LAOS, with Mr. Georgiadis and Mr. Voridis. I am mainly addressing the citizens who abstained from the last elections. They must take their lives into their own hands. With SYRIZA, they have the opportunity to influence their daily lives. To send a message to the election, unless they are so happy with the reality we live in. I address the progressive center and invite those who think that Mr. Mitsotakis is expressing this to look at the ballot.”

To a question about his previous reference that “the prime minister is a workaholic” he answered: “I consider him to be dangerous for the country, he is working, but he is working in the wrong direction. What he is doing with fixed-term contracts, the destruction of labor rights, the tolerance of banks and profits, we completely disagree, we have a completely different philosophy.”

Speaking about his positions, he said: “We need a fair tax system. We have been in the EEC since 1981 and we have received a lot of funds, so why are we at the bottom of the European Union”.

In response to a question about whether a man with his own personal wealth is willing to be the president of SYRIZA and a leftist, he replied: “The opinion that a leftist cannot legitimately become rich is a stereotype of the past. What is the alternative model of managing the global economy? Within the country we must have open but regulated markets. The most leftist thing is to have collectivity and social solidarity. A leftist country knows how to give decent wages, labor rights and tax justice. I am with practical solutions for our fellow citizens, this is the modern left.”

He spoke about tackling accuracy: “In this huge wave of accuracy, VAT should be zero. To find the money put an extraordinary levy on the surplus profits of the banks. Measures will last as long as accuracy. Let the prime minister explain why Greek feta cheese and Greek oil are more expensive than abroad.” He argued that money can be found from cutting waste: “Let me remind you that 2.5 billion direct commissions for digital works are being investigated by the European public prosecutor’s office, there is huge waste. We pay in cash. The question is where does the money go? Politicians have failed and betrayed the people, politics cannot be a hereditary right or a career it must be a job. The 10,000 euros tax-free we propose is less than 1000 euros per month. How will people pay for their needs, how will they plan their future and start a family?’

He further noted that “I have not heard the word Tempi on the channels. Ms. Karystianou is not shown. The ND politicians should stop insulting the people and calling the citizens, infidels, little people, leeches.”

Mr. Kasselakis gave the interview in the SYRIZA van that functions as a mobile office during the pre-election period. He also said: “I’m authentic, I don’t direct myself. If I had a communicator it would be a thankless job for him. The goal is to become the first party in Greece that will be climate neutral. The party offices will remain in Koumoundourou. I like the area, it’s multicultural.”

When asked why he was showing off his personal property, he replied: “I didn’t leak the contract for my house. I didn’t show the wedding invitation to the breakfasts. The market had been revealed, so I am forced to react and burn the issue. It is not possible for the Media to deal with a man who has not received a single euro and not to deal with the tens of properties that the Prime Minister has in his name, without checking his whereabouts. It would be provocative to show off my property if it was done at the expense of the citizens, I have not received a single euro. I’m not helped by this overexposure and I don’t cause it. I do not desire the world’s attention with such frivolous matters. The overexposure has tired me.”

He replied that “I became wealthy in 2022, until then I was in stress. I liquidated the company I was running and the money came from the results.”
