The prosecutor ordered a preliminary investigation into the fire that broke out early Sunday morning at the offices of PAE Aris, at the “Kl. Vikelidis”, an action which, according to the investigations of the competent prosecuting authorities, is due to arson.

The head of the Thessaloniki First Instance Prosecutor’s Office instructed the criminal prosecution prosecutor to order a preliminary investigation. The offenses being investigated are those of arson, defacement by fire, use of inflammable materials and breach of the Firecrackers Act (the latter two with the aggravating provisions of the Sports Act).

The investigation is requested to be carried out by the Sub-Directorate for Combating Violence in the Sports Halls of Thessaloniki of EL.AS.

In his order, the prosecutor requests that the results of the on-site investigation conducted by the Fire Service and the video footage from the surrounding area of ​​the stadium be included in the case file. He also requests that a statement be taken from the powerful man of PAE Aris, Theodoros Karypides, and that the exact extent of the damage caused by the fire be determined.

The fire was caused a few hours after the lost Cup final of the “yellows” at the Panthessaliko Stadium in Volos by Panathinaikos.
