Final Conference: The transport plan of the fans – The security measures

The police plan

– All public gatherings are prohibited for today, while the movement of fans to and from the stadium will be organized, from specific departure points and police escort.

In particular, Olympiakos fans, who have purchased red tickets, will gather in a specially designed area around the Peace and Friendship Stadium in Neo Faliro. From there, from 6:30 p.m., they will be gradually transported by ISAP trains, without intermediate stops, to the “Perissos” station, and then they will go to the stadium with a police escort.

At the same time, for the fans of Fiorentina, who have been allocated blue tickets, it has been planned to gather in a place at the O.A.K.A. , while they will then be transported under strict protection measures to the stadium by OSY buses.

As for the neutral fans, who have secured a white ticket, they will be served from the ISAP “Irini” and “Thisio” stations, heading, without an intermediate stop, to the “Perissos” station.

– From 6 pm, the ISAP trains will be used exclusively for the transport of fans and there will be no possibility of use by other citizens.

– Dozens of main roads have been closed or will be closed in the next few hours in Nea Filadelfia, Nea Ionia, Nea Chalkidona, Metamorfosi, Athens and Piraeus – and until 6 am on Thursday.

– Schools in areas near the New Philadelphia stadium are closed and residents of the area are commuting with the special credentials they have received.

– By NOTAM of the Civil Aviation Service, following the request of the Greek Police, the flights of helicopters and drones are prohibited from 14:00 on May 29, 2024 until 06:00 the next day.

– Screening of fans before and upon entering the Opap Arena will be thorough. Fans will need to bring their electronic red, blue or white ticket and ID and will be subject to a physical check. The tickets received through the UEFA app have all the relevant conditions as well as the items that fans are prohibited from having in their possession. If they are found to be in possession of any prohibited item during the inspection, they will be removed from the premises and brought to the police station.

Order and security measures

In order to ensure the safety of persons and facilities (safety & security), the Hellenic Police has drawn up a special operational plan which includes increased police measures with strict pre-checks and checks both at the above-mentioned gathering points of the fans, as well as on the way to the stadium, where also special measures will be implemented with the creation of a security perimeter and the operation of two check points for entering it.

During security pre-checks, physical searches will also be carried out in case of detection of prohibited items or substances (e.g. drugs, sharp objects, flammable objects, lasers, banners with abusive content, bats, poles, alcoholic beverages) and generally items that can cause bodily harm or risk to physical integrity, the persons will be removed from the site and brought to the competent agency for further action.

Furthermore, for the planning of the measures, the specificity of the location of the stadium (within an urban fabric) was taken into account and for this reason, in order to provide facilities to the permanent residents, it was foreseen to provide them with credentials, which are strictly personal.

From Monday, May 27, 2024, until the early hours of the morning after the end of the football match, in addition to intensive police checks, a series of traffic regulations will be implemented for the smooth movement of citizens and fans.

Similar police measures will be applied in the parts of the center of Athens (Kotzia Square and Jacqueline De Romygy Square), where events will be held in view of the final.

Traffic regulations – parking and traffic bans

Around the stadium, at the points where events will take place as well as during the movement of fans to and from the stadium, traffic regulations will be applied with parking and traffic bans as the case may be, which will be announced in detail with the latest information.

Indicatively and to avoid inconvenience, citizens are asked to avoid using vehicles on the following roads:

Likewise, due to the above traffic regulations and traffic stoppages on the roads in the area, fans are urged to avoid traveling to and from the stadium by their own vehicles, to avoid inconvenience and a serious traffic problem.
