The program will start on July 1, 2024 and will concern 300,000 checks
On Monday, June 3, 2024 at 18:00, the submission of electronic applications for beneficiaries and providers for their participation in the “Employed-Unemployed Social Tourism Program for the period 2024-2025” of the Public Employment Service (DYPA) will begin.
Applications will be submitted exclusively online through gov.gr with TAXISnet codes.
The platform will be opened gradually according to the last digit of the TIN of the interested beneficiaries until 09.06.2024 at 23:59.
The program will start on July 1, 2024 and will concern 300,000 checks, with a budget of 50 million euros, increased by 43% from last year, while overall, the budget of the program has quadrupled in the last 5 years.
Beneficiaries are:
• employees with a dependent employment relationship under private law at the end of the deadline for submitting applications or
• insured with the eEFKA in their occupational category with contributions in favor of the unemployment branch of the DYPA at any time between 01.01.2023 and the day before the application deadline or
• unemployed with a continuous period of unemployment of at least three months at the deadline for submitting applications.
The family income cannot exceed €30,000, while for the long-term unemployed (12 or more months of unemployment) the income cannot exceed €16,000 for singles, €24,000 for married people (increased by €5,000 per child) or €29,000 for single-parent families (increased by €5,000 for each child after the first).
The selection of the beneficiaries is based on the scoring of specific criteria (disabled, single parent, number of children, income, first time participation in the program) in an objective and transparent manner through the Integrated Information System (ISIS) of DYPA.
It is noted that employees and unemployed people who are subsidized for their participation in a social tourism program of any other organization for the same period and those (except for the disabled) who received a check in the 2023-24 program cannot participate in the program.
The supporting documents related to the conditions of participation or the scoring of the beneficiaries are sought ex officio. In cases where supporting documents are required due to the inability to search ex officio, these are attached to the applications.
Amounts and overnight stays
The check, with which the participation process is carried out, is a unique number for each beneficiary and each beneficiary separately.
- Beneficiaries-beneficiaries can carry out up to 6 nights in a tourist accommodation that they choose from the “Register of Providers” of DYPA, following their consultation with the provider, with little private participation.
- Especially to Leros, Lesvos, Chios, Kos and Samos can be carried out up to 10 nights free (zero private participation), while at municipalities of Istiaia-Edipsos and Mantoudi-Limni-Ag. Anna of N. Evia and Evros can be carried out up to 12 nights freeto which is added this year Thessaly (except the Sporades).
- Subsidized prices remain increased by 20% for the peak month of August, with a corresponding 20% ​​subsidy for the Christmas (from 15.12.2024 to 14.01.2025) and Easter (from 11.04.2025 to 27.04.2025) periods.
- The increased subsidy is valid for the whole year for the accommodation of N. Evia, Evros and Thessaly (except Sporades).
- In addition to accommodation in tourist accommodation, they are also subsidized ferry tickets. The participation of the beneficiaries amounts to 25%. For people with disabilities, ferry tickets are available free of charge.
It is noted that the program provides for special scoring for single parents and for the disabled and increased scoring for beneficiaries with a lower income.
Also, for the disabled, the possibility of participation is provided every year, the right of an escort and zero private participation in the ferry tickets, while no penalty is imposed on them if they do not use their cheques.
For parents, increased points are provided for each minor child.
This year, those citizens who have not received checks in the past or did not receive a check due to being scored in the last two programs are being scored.
In addition, a register of providers is created in which the previous year’s providers automatically participate.
Examples
Example 1: A family of 4 chooses to stay in Crete from 01.07.2024 in a 5-star hotel with breakfast for 6 nights.
He will get a subsidy for the hotel €840 (4 people X 6 nights X €35)
For the coastal ferries with a price of €100 round trip, €200 (50 X 4).
Total €1,040
If the stay is set in August, the subsidy will be increased by 20% and will be €1,008 for the hotel (€42 X 4 people X 6 nights)
Example 2: A family of 4 chooses Northern Evia for the same hotel category for 12 nights.
He will get a subsidy of €2,688 (€56 X 4 people X 12 nights)
If he chooses to stay in a 3-star hotel, he will receive a subsidy of €2,064 (€43 X 4 people X 12 nights).
For providers
Providers of the program are tourist accommodation and ferry companies. The applications of the interested providers will be submitted exclusively online via gov.gr with TAXISnet codes, to the email address:

From this year, providers from the previous year will be automatically included in the Register of Providers, as long as they update their participation documents.
