Overthrow with the death of the 91-year-old woman who died due to septic shock at the Volos hospital, where she was admitted yesterday.

The woman came from Almyros of Volos and until a few hours ago it had not been clarified if her death was related to the cases of gastroenteritis in Rizomylos and Stefanovikeio.

Earlier, in a communication with skai.gr, a doctor of the 2nd Pathological Clinic of the Volos hospital stated that “the 91-year-old woman died within a few minutes of her arrival at the emergency room from septic shock. It is not yet certain whether the death from septic shock comes from gastroenteritis.”

However, according to information from Thessaly Region the 90-year-old woman ended up suffering from cardiac arrest, atrial fibrillation and asthma followed by septic shock which proved fatal for the elderly woman.

The hospital announcement

According to information from the General Hospital of Volos, from May 27 until today, 34 patients have arrived at Achillopoulio, of which 20 are children and 14 are adults. Of these, 12 children were hospitalized in the pediatric clinic and 5 adults (4 in B Pathology and 1 in ICU).

Today, 8 children and 3 adults are hospitalized, two in the 2nd Pathology Department and one in the ICU.

The patient in the ICU is due to a brain injury from a fall due to feeling weak due to gastroenteritis.

Also, the one patient hospitalized in the B Pathology clinic has a Stroke as the reason for admission

The 7 children hospitalized in the pediatric clinic have a good clinical picture, while the one who arrived on May 31st in a more serious condition, has an improved clinical picture.
