The fire that broke out at 11:15 in the morning in a forest area in the Drosopigi area of the Municipality of Oropos is limited and without an active front.
According to the Fire Department, the fire broke out around 11:15, while after about an hour it was contained and has no active front.
At the same time, according to a police announcement, vehicle traffic was restored in the area of Drosopigi.
65 firefighters with three groups of pedestrian units and 16 vehicles are operating at the scene, while two aircraft and three helicopters are assisting from the air, one of which is for coordination. Volunteer firefighters and local water bodies also provide assistance.
It is noted that initially an order was given to put the PF personnel in Attica on general alert, a decision which was changed, putting the personnel on partial alert due to the coordinated response of ground forces and aerial means, which resulted in the immediate containment of the fire.
