The arrest of a 24-year-old foreigner in cooperation with the Swedish authorities and the support of Europol took place yesterday in Halkidiki the Department of Crimes against Life and Personal Freedom of the Attica Security Directorate.

In particular, information had been received about the above from Authorities of Sweden that he is a key member of a criminal network and that he has committed various crimes in Sweden.

In this context and after appropriate utilization and investigation of further information, it became possible to locate him in Kassandra, Halkidiki. During the police check, he presented a fake identity card to foreign authorities, resulting in his being stopped and arrested.

In a subsequent body search as well as a search of the house where he temporarily resided, the following were found and confiscated:

  • 2,830 euros,
  • -5- mobile phones,-2- laptops,
  • gold chain with round gold pendant, silver watch,
  • pistol with a magazine with -7- cartridges,
  • -32- cartridges and
  • nylon packaging with a total gross weight of -24.1- grams, containing a narcotic substance, possibly cannabis in the form of “chocolate”.

Police

A case file was filed against him for forgery, forgery of certificates as well as violations of the laws on weapons and drugs and he was taken to the Criminal Prosecutor of Halkidiki.

In addition, the above will also be brought before the competent Prosecutor of Appeals as a European Arrest Warrant was issued against him by the Swedish Authorities for illegal trafficking of weapons, ammunition or explosives, murder (homicide) or serious bodily harm, kidnapping, illegal confinement or hostage-taking.
