According to British reports, his four adult children are on the island
The dominant topic in the British media is the news of the disappearance of the 67-year-old well-known and award-winning English journalist, whose traces have been missing since Wednesday afternoon, when he decided to return to Gyalos, on foot from the beach of Agios Nikolaos in Symi.
It is about Michael Mosley, a British television journalist, producer and presenter, who has been working for the BBC since 1985 and who, together with his 64-year-old wife, spent days of rest and vacation on the island of Symi.
As SKAI correspondent Thanasis Gavos reported from London, the disappearance is in the headlines, as the 67-year-old is very popular in his country.
Several British journalists are in Symi. What they focus on is that he inexplicably seems to have decided to walk a difficult path, in very poor weather conditions for such a hike.
According to the British reports, his four adult children are on the island, while his brother also expressed his concern, who stated that the whole family is confused, expressing the hope that there will be a happy ending to his disappearance.
Speaking to yesterday, the mayor of Symi Lefteris Papaloukas called the disappearance “strange story” iraising questions about what might have happened.
“He couldn’t have gotten into something and we couldn’t find him after 1-2 minutes on the road that connects the city with Pedi and the village” points out, among other things, Lefteris Papakalodoukas in his interview at skai.gr.
-At what stage are the investigations at the moment?
– Right now the investigations are like starting from scratch. We have no evidence that the missing person is anywhere, at any point. All we know is that he has passed the route, that of the path, from the beach, he has crossed the coastal road of Pedi and from there he disappeared on the route from Pedi to the village and Gialos.
Now what has come up there? He couldn’t have suffered something and not find him after 1-2 minutes on the road that connects the town with Pedi and the village, because there is a lot of traffic on this road. We cannot understand what has happened, what has become…
– As if the earth opened up and we could understand man…
Something like that. There are of course some issues. Like why he left Pedi alone, from the beach of Agios Nikolaos, why he didn’t keep his mobile phone with him, why he walked instead of taking the boat to go down to the city in 45 degrees Celsius. The whole story is a bit strange.
– What is the scenario you are considering right now?
The man either lost the way – the way is not lost – on his own he chose to enter the trees and walk in the fields, or he went to see some other attraction and with 40-45 degrees Celsius he got dizzy, got something and was alone . and helpless. But not on the main road. I can’t say the rest, we all put it in our heads but we can’t say anything more.
Security camera footage from the last time Michael Mosley was seen alive shows him walking down a main street on the island of Symi, holding an umbrella for the sun.
