Citizens are asked to delay their departure – From three traffic lanes on the new National Highway to Corinth – Detailed traffic regulations
A message to the residents of Lekanopedi to delay their departure due to the long delays observed on the national road was sent at noon on Saturday by 112. The delays occur after yesterday’s accident with the burning tanker at the height of the Isthmus and while being carried out since dawn by the Ministry of Infrastructure, removal work of the flyover which was damaged by the high thermal load
The message reads: “Long delays due to traffic congestion from Elefsina to Corinth on Olympia Road. Delay your departure. Follow the instructions of the Authorities”
The Traffic Authority has allocated three traffic lanes on the new National Highway towards Corinth to serve the voters.
Traffic at this time is being carried out with delays on the new National Road near the tipping point of the tanker, in the stream from Athens to Corinth, up to the point of the collision, with the presence of traffic being intense and vehicles now moving in 3 traffic lanes to relieve the flow of traffic towards Corinth.
Traffic also advises voters, whose exit takes place normally, to leave a little later to their destinations and drivers moving in the current of the detour to show caution because with the opposite flow of traffic as a separator are the cones.
The mobilization of the state apparatus was immediate, as from the first moment of the accident, the Deputy Minister of Infrastructure Nikos Tahiaos was found by the government at the scene with a team of engineers from the ministry to manage the situation, and since dawn the work of removing the flyover was carried out by the Minister Christos Staikouras and the Minister of Citizen Protection Michalis Chrysochoidis.
The information from the traffic police is continuous and traffic is expected to flow more easily in the next few hours. In any case, drivers can use both options given by the traffic police, i.e. both the route of the protest and the route from the Loutraki junction, while from tomorrow morning the traffic will be much better as the removal works of the basically, citizens can travel to vote normally.
