A man was arrested, yesterday afternoon, in the area of ​​Ilia, by police officers of the Ilias Security Department, against whom a case file was filed for violation of the law on domestic violence, rape, illegal detention, theft and embezzlement.
In particular, a local woman filed a complaint against her partner, with whom they lived in the same house, because two weeks ago, after an argument between them, he grabbed her by the hair and punched her multiple times in the face and hands.
Subsequently, the defendant illegally detained her in their house locked under his strict supervision, while he removed her mobile phone, in order to prevent her from providing first aid and immediately informing the police authorities.
In addition, according to the woman’s complaint, early yesterday morning, the defendant, taking advantage of her inability to react, raped her, and then left their home, taking her wallet, which contained the sum of 350 euros.
As part of the investigation of the complainants, the police officers of the Ilias Security Department and the Special Control Group of the Ilias Police Directorate located the accused yesterday at his home and arrested him.
In the search that followed at his house, they found and seized nineteen cannabis seedlings, which he was growing in the same number of pots.
The arrested person was taken to the Prosecutor of Amaliadas.
