Relevant announcements are expected today, in the afternoon, from the competent Traffic Directorates and the concessionaire company. In the meeting held for the optimal coordination of all co-competent bodies in view of the bad weather “BIANKA”, which is expected to gradually hit central and northern Greece from tonight, the Minister of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, Christos Stylianidis stressed to all The need for full vigilance, in order to immediately deal with any problems due to the heavy rainfall and storms that are expected to occur, but also the snowfall in the mountains and semi-mountains. In this context, 112 will be activated, if deemed necessary to send warning messages to residents, depending on the course of events.
During the meeting, the participants were informed in detail by the director of the National Meteorological Service (EMY), Theodoros Kolydas, about the course of the bad weather. All those present stressed that their forces are ready for immediate intervention to address any problems.
The meeting was held under the Minister of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, Christos Stylianidis, with the participation of the Deputy Minister of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, Evangelos Tournas, the Secretary General of Civil Protection, Vassilios Papageorgiou, as well as the Regional Governor Governor of Thessaly, Konstantinos Agorastos and the competent Deputy Regional Governors / Directors of Civil Protection of the Regions of Central Macedonia, Western Macedonia, Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, Epirus, Western Greece, Central Greece and Northern Aegean.

It is reminded that according to the Extraordinary Bulletin of Dangerous Weather Phenomena, issued yesterday by the National Meteorological Service (EMY), weather system is predicted to cause bad weather under the name “BIANCA” in Greece in the coming days. The main features of this bad weather will be the local heavy rains and storms, the heavy snowfall in the central and northern country, the stormy winds in the seas and the drop in temperature.

a) In places, heavy rains and thunderstorms will occur from the first hours of Sunday in the northern Ionian, Epirus and western Sterea, and gradually in Macedonia, Thessaly, the Sporades, the islands of the northern and eastern Aegean and Thrace.
b) Heavy snowfall in places will occur in the mountains and semi-mountains of Epirus, Macedonia, Thessaly and in the afternoon in Thrace.

B. Monday (28-02-2022)
a) In places, heavy rains and thunderstorms will occur in the early morning hours in the sea and coastal areas of eastern Macedonia, Thrace and the islands of the eastern Aegean.
b) Heavy snowfall in places will occur in the mainland mountains as well as in semi-mountainous areas of Thessaly and eastern Sterea.
c) Stormy north northwest winds of 8 Beaufort will blow in the seas.
d) The temperature will drop significantly by 3 to 5 degrees Celsius in northern and central Greece.
C. Tuesday (01-03-2022)
a) In the morning, heavy rains will occur in places in the eastern and southern country and mainly in the Cyclades, northern Crete and the Dodecanese.
b) Heavy snowfall in places will occur until noon in the mountains as well as in semi-mountainous areas of Thessaly, eastern Sterea and Evia.
