In the Zefiria area near Milos airport
Fire manifested itself in low vegetation in the afternoon hours today (Tuesday, June 18, 2024) in the Zephyria area near the airport of the island of Milos, while 112 was also called with residents being asked to move away from Tsigrado beach towards Provatas as a precaution.
According to the fire department, strong winds are blowing at the scene.

To put it out, 47 firefighters with 3 groups of infantry departments, 5 vehicles, 2 aircraft and 2 helicopters were mobilized, including:
- 1 group of hikers from the 1st EMODE division that transits with a helicopter of the P.S. from Athens
- 2 groups of infantry divisions of the 1st EMODE that transits by air and
- 20 firefighters with 5 vehicles of the Motorized Special Department of Fire Fighting Operations (METPE) traveling by ferry from Piraeus.
Assistance in the extinguishing work was provided by volunteer firefighters with water vehicles and water OTAs.
