Dimoglidou in SKAI: Mr. Lytra’s wife was arrested after the lawsuit against her and then released

Speaking to SKAI, representative of EL.AS, Constantia Dimoglidou, reported that Apostolos Lytras appeared yesterday voluntarily at the police station, following an arrest warrant. As the accused explained, throughout the previous night he was also searched at the residence address he had declared, while the lawyers also tried to communicate with him, but it was not possible, and then he voluntarily appeared at the police station where he was arrested following the warrant. “He is being taken to the prosecutor and the investigator who also issued the arrest warrant and basically for us there are no restrictive conditions, we are waiting for the prison to see which detention center he will be taken to,” he noted.

She emphasized that the police come into contact with such incidents every day. “When there is abuse in the couple, especially the next few days, when there is an arrest it is difficult for both sides. In Attica alone, we have had more than 20 cases since the beginning of the year when it was decided to have a police officer outside the house in order to see if the conditions would be respected and in fact in many cases there were arrests. So it’s not an isolated incident,” said Mrs. Dimoglidou.

Referring to the episodic visit of relatives and associates of Apostolos Lytras to the house where his wife lives, she noted that “in this particular case the perpetrator did not go to the victim’s home but from the perpetrator’s surroundings which apparently were not welcome, there was no previous agreement as stated by the victim in the lawsuit he filed against them and that is why the spontaneous procedure was followed. The same spontaneous procedure was followed yesterday for his wife (Sofia Polyzogopoulou) from the moment the defendant filed a petition. It is unfortunately typical of the procedure that we must follow by always informing the prosecutor of criminal prosecution.”

As reported by Mrs. Dimoglidou, the wife of Mr. Lytra, she was arrested by the police officer outside her house. she was taken to the police station as per the procedure, then the competent prosecutor was contacted and she was released.
