In a press release issued by the office of the criminologist Alexis Kougia, the following is stated:

“The head of our office was informed by the media of the content of messages exchanged between the alleged victim of serious intentional bodily harm and the allegedly terrified husband of our colleague Apostolos Lytras.

In one of the messages, the allegedly seriously injured and allegedly terrified Ms. Polyzogopoulou sends a message to the associate of Apostolos Lytras, with which she not only slanders Mr. Kougias, but mainly highlights what kind of personality she is and that she is not only terrified.

This message has the following content: ‘tell him to calm down because I found out he is talking to Kuya and they are talking nonsense’.

The specific message affects the honor and reputation of Mr. Alexios Kougias both as a person and as a lawyer and its content is completely false and slanderous.

Because Mr. Kougias is before the Joint Jury Court of Karpenisi in a case of homicide and grievous bodily harm, we his associates have received an order to send today an extrajudicial – protest – invitation – statement to Sofia Polyzogopoulou and subsequently to file a lawsuit and action against her.

Also, we have received an order from Mr. Kougias to receive copies of the broadcasts of the presenter Georgios Liagas on ANT1 yesterday and today and to evaluate whether what he said about the personality of Mr. Alexios Kougias constitutes the offense of defamation and, in terms of civil law, insult of personality, so that, if the legal conditions are met, Mr. Kougias can appeal against Georgios Liagas before the criminal and civil Courts.
