Imathia in white – Traffic ban in Egnatia and the road to 3-5 Pigadia


Heavy snowfall affects areas of the prefecture of Imathia.

Due to the snow, there are problems in parts of the road network, while traffic has been banned in part of the Egnatia Motorway.

According to an announcement by ELAS:

It is announced that, due to the unfavorable weather conditions, from today (February 27, 2022) in the morning the traffic of trucks, gross weight over 3.5 tons as well as other heavy vehicles is prohibited in both traffic streams in the following road section of Egnatia Road:

from the uneven junction of Polymylos (226 km) to the uneven junction of Klidi (288 km).
With its announcement, the municipality of Naoussa appeals to the citizens to limit the unnecessary movements due to the heavy snowfall.

According to information, the road from Naoussa to the 3-5 Pigadia Ski Center remains closed, since the branches of the trees have been tilted due to the heavy snow that falls in the area.

The announcement of the municipality of Naoussa states:

“Drivers are kindly requested to be very careful and to follow the instructions of the traffic wardens.”

The Municipality of Naoussa due to the heavy snowfall both in the city and in the mountains of the Municipality appeals to the citizens to avoid unnecessary movements and the drivers to be equipped with anti-skid chains.
