The trial of the journalist who was reported for domestic violence was postponed by the Autoforo Monomeles to Friday, June 28, who will remain in custody until the trial of the case.

The case of Autoforos concerns the accusation of serial domestic threats brought against him by the Prosecutor after the complaint of his partner, also a journalist.

The court will call to testify at the trial both the partner and the estranged wife of the defendant, who accuse him of incidents of violence. At the same time, the two women will be informed about the criminal mediation request submitted by the journalist.

It should be noted that the process of criminal mediation only concerns misdemeanors of domestic violence and starts when the accused declares unconditionally that he will not commit an act of violence within the family, that he will move in case of cohabitation if requested by the victim, to attend a special counseling-therapeutic program, etc. a. If the entire action is successful, with the agreement of all parties and the issuance of relevant provisions of the Court, then the accused must comply with the terms of the criminal mediation for a period of three years. The process is then completed and the state’s criminal claim for the crime involved in the mediation is then extinguished.

The Public Prosecutor’s Office has started a preliminary examination for the journalist regarding previous incidents reported against him.
