AADE has identified illegal gas stations in Crete and Kos
Customs Auditors of the Independent Public Revenue Authority identified illegal fuel stations in Heraklion, Crete and Kos, resulting in their two-year sealing.
Particularly:
1. Following the utilization of information resulting from a complaint in AADE’s appodixi application, it was found that a handwritten Retail Sales Receipt was issued for the sale of heating oil, which had not been transmitted to AADE’s information systems.
From the on-site inspection at the fuel station located in Heraklion, Crete, incomplete documents were found for the fuel in the tanks, and the crime of smuggling is being investigated.
2. Kos Customs inspectors, conducting a regular check on a hotel on the island, found possession of adulterated fuel.
Their control continued at the gas station from where the supply was made and the existence of contraband fuel was found in:
• three tank trucks, with a total volume of 5,960 liters and
• five tanks with 1,072 liters of oil and 11,853 liters of petrol.
The fuel was confiscated and will be returned from the tanks and tankers.
At the same time, the cases are forwarded to the public prosecutor for criminal prosecutions, while, in addition, due diligence procedures are immediately activated to prohibit the supply of fuel to businesses connected to the gas stations.
