For August 4th, in just one month, elections were set in Heimarra, after the ousting of Fredis Beleris by the Albanian authorities.

Its executives describe the definition of the elections so soon as an act of blackmail Omonia. They attribute him to Edi Rama’s need to surprise them.

Albanian Prime Minister Fredis Beleris accuses the Albanian Prime Minister of a puzzle of methods in order to prevent him from assuming the office of mayor of Heimarra in a statement after his dismissal by the Albanian Central Electoral Committee in Tirana.

It was his plan from the start to not be able to take up my duties as the elected Mayor of Heimarra” notes Mr. Beleris about Rama.

“It took the violation of the presumption of innocence for whole months, it also took the violation of the European acquis, the violation of every concept of democratic principle mwith the “occupation” that followed in the Municipality of Heimarra” emphasizes the ND MEP.

He declares, however, that “our fair fight will continue”.

The statement of ND MEP, Fredis Beleris, in detail

“The puzzle of methods – inspired and executed from start to finish by Mr. Rama – was completed today. His plan was from the beginning that I would not be able to take up my duties as the elected Mayor of Heimarra.

To do this it took my coup arrest, a mock trial, with a prosecution witness who confessed to being paid by the Albanian police to testify falsely, a judge who is banned from entering Greece for falsifying documents, and an appointed, not drawn, president of the Court of Appeal .

It took the violation of the presumption of innocence for whole months, it also took the violation of the European acquis, the violation of every concept of democratic principle with the “occupation” that followed in the Municipality of Heimarra.

In the Municipality, where the Republic won and then -unfortunately- was vilified to the highest degree.

The highlight is that I was given administrative permission to attend the announcement of my impeachment decision, while I was not given corresponding permission to be sworn in as Mayor, creating a dangerous precedent for democratic institutions.

However, our righteous struggle will continue. We owe it to the Chimarrio people, we owe it to the Greeks, but we also owe it to the European citizens. To those, that is, who never accepted discounts in the Rule of Law and Democracy”.

“Questions about the rule of law in Albania”

The dismissal of Fredis Beleris by the Albanian authorities is criticized by his announcement Ministry of Foreign Affairsspeaking of “innovative practice and the foretold conclusion of a process with many question marks in relation to fundamental principles of the rule of law”.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasizes again the obligation of the Albanian authorities to take all the necessary measures in order to immediately enable Mr. Beleris, now an elected member of the European Parliament, to attend its work, starting with its Plenary on July 16 in Strasbourg.

The announcement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

“Today’s decision of the Central Electoral Commission of Albania to disqualify Fredi Beleris without even taking the oath of Mayor Heimarra is a new practice and the foretold conclusion of a process with many question marks in relation to fundamental principles of the rule of law.

“Greece had in time expressed its strong concern about the deprivation of the presumption of innocence, the integrity of the evidentiary process, the ban on swearing and the disproportionate penalty imposed, as well as the fact that the Municipality of Heimarra has been governed for one year by non-legalized faces.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs underlines once again the obligation of the Albanian authorities to take all the necessary measures in order to immediately allow Mr. Beleris, now an elected member of the European Parliament, to attend his work, starting from his Plenary on the 16 July in Strasbourg”.
