The lawyer of the well-known singer, Michalis Dimitrakopoulos, presented a document from the AADE on the Remo case to SKAI.
He said that a lie that has been leaked is that Antonis Remos has not given a single euro to Heraklis, from Heraklis’ debts at a time when the latter had nothing to do with it. He showed for the first time a document from AADE which, as he mentioned, shows the amount the well-known singer has paid in 2021, which is approximately 1,240,216.
He emphasized that while “there is an official document from the AADE, the other Authority that fights against black money comes and with its statement to the media, which says that we are the source, tells barbaric lies against Mr. Antonis Remos that he has not given even one euro. So, how should this citizen feel when the independent authorities inform us of new lies, which are proven with documents?”
Mr. Dimitrakopoulos underlined that “a preliminary examination is being conducted at this stage. There is no criminal prosecution. There is no charge. So he rightly said that it is controlled.”
The lawyer stated that Mr. Remos “is a citizen and nothing more. We are all equal before the law and the investigation was well done, by the Anti-Property Authority, which is not legal and someone is trying to legalize it. He emphasized that the well-known singer does not ask for special treatment and expresses some questions such as “how is it possible that the conclusion of the specific authority is leaking to the journalists and we have not received it in our hands?”
He added that it is an “institutional error” which is not correct. “I am not afraid to honestly speak to you to tell you what I believe. I’m not a lawyer in hiding. From here on what I say. There are proofs, there are newspapers, there are the television stations that read the conclusion for which Mr. Remos is accused. I don’t know that. Antonis Remos doesn’t know that. My colleague Stathis Bakalis, who has been handling the case for a long time at the tax level, does not know this. When we get the report and we will request the report officially on Monday from the prosecutor’s office, because it has been sent there, we will also make the defense public.”
He noted that they received only one order that all the assets of Antonis Remos are frozen.
The lawyer emphasized that “in order to be able to have a criminal prosecution, there must be strong evidence. And in order for a person to be convicted there must be certainty. Elementary rules in a rule of law’.
He emphasized that the position of Mr. Remos is that he does not know what is attributed to him and that no findings have been communicated to him.
He wondered how an Authority which must protect privacy, gives information about sensitive personal data.
Mr. Dimitrakopoulos emphasized that “Antonis Remos welcomes the initiative taken by the independent authority that fights money laundering from criminal activity. He doesn’t want any special treatment. The complaints made through Bakalis’ lawyers and me are that there was a leak, that Remos has tax returns for the last five years of 50,000 euros.”
As he explained, “this leak is what offended him as a person because from that moment on, the internet rightly vilifies him. Because an artist of the caliber of Antonis Remus, if he declared 50,000 euros in five years, it is indeed provocative” and he added that this lie comes from the two bodies that have this conclusion in their hands. “One is the Prosecutor’s Office, it is impossible for the Prosecutor’s Office of First Instance to have done it. The second is the Authority for Combating Products Derived from Criminal Activity… and the truth that hurts him unimaginably that there was a year during the covid period in 21, where then all the shops were closed”, he said characteristically.
