A new chapter opens in his training course Christou Conti, who is his new coach as of Wednesday morning (29/10). OFI.
Shortly before his first training session with the Cretans, the Greek coach spoke to the press representatives and mentioned, among other things, the great interest shown in him by the people of the club.
At the same time, he talked about the goals he has for the OFI team during the season, but also the football philosophy he wants to pass on to his players.
In detail what he said:
“Very happy to be a member of the OFI family, the largest team in Crete. Very happy and looking forward to doing the first workout. Let’s create something beautiful together. I like attacking football, dominant football, and we will try to pass that on to the players. Let the players and I be happy to see them, but also the fans.
Our job is to see what we can do to climb the standings. Let’s build a team that will be competitive. I am an ambitious coach. Together with the ambitions of the team to come together and achieve something great. I think that if the results come, they bring good psychology. Then appetite. I say again, let’s build a competitive team that loves football. The team will change the way they play. We will play dominant football, we will have possession, supremacy. We want balance in defense and attack. There will be guidance in training.
The team must be at 5-8. The highest goal is 5th place. All this depends of course on the players and on us. I want to say that I feel very beautiful. The people of OFI hugged me. They showed me how much they want me. This makes me feel like I have more responsibility. To justify them and do nice things. From the beginning, when we talked to the president and he showed me how much he wanted me, I liked him. OFI is a challenge.
As a Greek coach I want to show what I can do. OFI can offer me this. Let’s all put our own stamp on the development of the team together. It’s a cliché with work, but I don’t like big statements. I love what I do, I live for it, I have a group of players who can give more. All together we will try to present something nice inside the stadium, to be combined with good results and to bring people back to the stadium.
As I said before, I like dominant football. To create opportunities through the game. To have a good presence and inhibitory function, to have a balance in defense and attack. Let’s take these out in the next match with Asteras.
Every player needs guidance, you show them the way, and the talent is there. The experience together with the young footballers must be combined and create a team that will win every Sunday”.
