The 44-year-old accused of murdering the 54-year-old surveyor in Neo Psychiko has been given a deadline to apologize next Thursday.
Gunpowder was found in the belt of the 44-year-old, who is accused of murdering the 54-year-old surveyor in Neo Psychiko and who has been given a deadline to apologize next Thursday.
The press representative of EL.AS. Constantia Dimoglidou speaking to ERTNews emphasized that “the key is that the police did not let time run against them and of course in favor of the perpetrator. It is one of the few times that we have so soon not only the identification of the perpetrator, but also his arrest.”
He also stated that there is enough video material that needs to be checked in order to ascertain the course of the perpetrator.
“There are witness statements and now laboratory data, little by little, from what was found in the house where this man lived, which will of course strengthen the accusation even more. But the key to the case was that the police were in the right place at the right time and managed to bring this man in, before he disappeared and maybe the last pieces of evidence that could help us and before he disappeared too.”
As he explained, “some objects have been found in his home, some objects which will help us strengthen the accusation even more, as well as some mobile phones which will definitely give us more information about the moral perpetrator. Because the Homicide investigation doesn’t stop here. We must also find the moral perpetrator in this murder, if there is one. At least the impression that the police have so far is that we are talking about different persons, that the moral and the physical perpetrator are two different persons, which is why the investigation continues”
To the question of whether gunpowder was found on his clothes from the one found at the scene of the murder, Mrs. Dimoglidou replied “there are some positive results, some laboratory data on some of the objects. Of course there are others that need to be researched, we don’t have results for them yet. These will further strengthen the category. But from now on, there must be a digital examination of some evidence of both the victim and the alleged perpetrator, to see if they will be able to give us information about the moral perpetrator”.
“His mobile phone is being checked to see if this man was threatened,” he said, while as to whether the moral perpetrator is wanted in Mykonos, he replied “not only. And maybe the result at the end of the research can lead us somewhere else. There is of course a Homicide section there, because that is where most of the activities of the 54-year-old victim are. But we cannot rule out that the moral perpetrator is somewhere else and in some other case, even his personal one[…] It may not be related to his professional activities.”
At another point, he emphasized “the machine of the alleged perpetrator is currently in the forensic laboratories. The engine of the crime is being sought. There are some data that may lead us in the coming days to this too, but for now it is not this machine. It is the machine that the perpetrator used at least in his everyday life.”
