Computer submissions started today – The dates and the process
The Ministry of Education has announced the Minimum Admission Requirements (EBA), which correspond to each School or Department of Higher Education.
See the tables HERE.
It is reminded that, during the process of completing the computerized form, only the departments in which they have obtained the EBE will be visible to the candidates.
Taking into account the above, interested parties will be able to initially edit their computerized form by declaring their temporary preferences (Temporary Storage of Computerized Form) and then proceed to finalize it through its final submission (Submission of Computerized Form), within the deadline, which will be announced by the Ministry of Education. It is noted that the E.B.E. they result from the average performance of the candidates per Scientific Field/Sector in combination with the coefficients, which were determined by the Schools or Departments of the Universities themselves in the Panhellenic 2024.
It should be noted that a School or Department may have chosen as a Minimum Admission Basis from 80% to 120% of the average performance of the candidates – or any of the values in between. Accordingly, he may also have chosen for the Special Course – if it is required for admission to specific schools – as the Minimum Basis for Admission to a Special Course or Special Courses 70% or 110% of the average performance of the candidates or any of the values in between of space.
As long as the platform remains open for the submission of the computer application, candidates will be able to contact their High Schools for any information, support, and even the use of a computer, if they do not have one themselves.
How the Minimum Input Base is calculated
Each University Department sets as EBE percentage X% of the average (MO) of the average performance (ME) of all candidates in all four courses (M1, M2, M3, M4), of the candidate’s scientific field [ΜΟ=ΜΕΜ1+ΜΕΜ2+ΜΕΜ3+ΜΕΜ4)/4]
The Ministry determines the range for X%.
The values 0.80 and 1.20, respectively, were set as the minimum and maximum value of the EBE coefficient of schools, departments or introductory directions for admission to higher education.
A number with up to two decimal places can be defined as the EBE coefficient, which is within the above minimum and maximum value interval.
For example:
Average of the average performance of all candidates in a scientific field: 12/20.
EBE defined by a University department: 90% of the Average Term, i.e. 10.8.
Average of the average performances of all candidates in a scientific field: 11/20.
EBE defined by a University department: 90% of the Average Term, i.e. 9.9.
In the schools, departments or introductory directions, which are part of more than one scientific field, for the calculation of the EBE, the lowest average of the averages of the grade performance of the candidates in the nationally examined courses of the scientific fields, to which the specific schools are part, is taken into account , departments or introductory directions.
The EBE coefficient for each school, department or admission direction is uniform for the admission of candidates from full-time or evening G.E.L. or EPA.L.
It is recalled that the implementation of the EBE was introduced during the academic year 2021-2022, based on a relevant Ministerial Decision.
How are EBEs calculated for Special Courses
In schools, departments and introductory courses, where the examination of a special course or special courses or practical tests is required due to the nature of their subject matter, the examination of the special course or special courses or practical tests is carried out nationwide.
Admission requires the achievement of the Minimum Admission Base of the special course or special courses or practical tests of the faculty, department or introductory course, as well as the EBE of the faculty, department or introductory course.
In order to calculate the total score of the candidates, the score resulting from the product of the grade of the special course or special courses or practical tests with the corresponding weighting factor is added to the score of the four nationally examined courses.
As the minimum and maximum value of the EBE coefficient of special courses or practical tests for admission to higher education in the academic year 2021-2022 and henceforth, the values 0.70 and 1.10 have been set, respectively. A number with up to two decimal places can be defined as the EBE coefficient, which is within the above minimum and maximum value interval.
