A total of 45 counterfeit 50 euro banknotes with a total value of 2,250 euros were found and confiscated
Four men and one woman were arrested by the Police Authorities in Drama for forgery and circulation of counterfeit currency and violation of arms legislation, as well as for founding and participating in a criminal organization, according to thestival.gr. Two more perpetrators are being sought.
In particular, after a thorough investigation, evaluation and utilization of police data with the assistance of police officers from the Pangai Police Department of the Kavala Police Department, it was found that during the period from 7 to 11-7-2024 the perpetrators had put into circulation at least six cases counterfeit bank notes of 50 euroscarrying out transactions in businesses in the areas of Drama and Kavala, while in one case the transaction did not take place as the employee of the business realized the forgery of the banknote.
A coordinated police operation followed, during which five of the above perpetrators were identified and arrested, while in a search carried out at the home of the four arrested and the one citizen who is wanted, a total of 45 counterfeit banknotes of 50 euros with a total value of 50 euros were found and confiscated. 2,250 eurosa knife and a sum of money.
The arrested were taken to the competent Prosecutor, while the preliminary investigation was initiated by the Drama Security Department.
